Review:
Whenever I watch a music related documentary or film I set out with the same goal in mind: to learn historical and musical lessons I can apply for myself. I did not get this here. Sure, there were a couple of cool tidbits like McMahon’s close friendship with Tommy Lee, who narrates this film and also plays drums on Everything In Transit. But what I did get was lessons in courage, attitude, and hope. Andrew McMahon’s story of battling leukemia at age 22 while on the precipice of a new project is inspirational. The fact that McMahon himself documented large parts of his own battles makes this about as raw and emotional as storytelling gets.
